Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What action, if any, has the New Zealand Transport Agency taken on each of the reports it received from WorkSafe’s road cone hotline to date and and how many road cones, if any, were removed from each of the sites reported as a result of actions taken?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) response to submissions from the Road Cone Hotline follows existing processes for a state highway query. That is, the submission is forwarded to the relevant maintenance or infrastructure project contractor to investigate and provide a response direct to the customer if required. NZTA does not hold a record of the number of road cones removed.
