29612 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Where will the more than 600 new social houses funded through Budget 2024 that have been allocated for delivery from 1 July 2025 be built and when will the first houses in each location be delivered?

Hon Chris Bishop: I expect that all social housing funded through Budget 24 will be delivered by 1 July 2027. I am advised that the first eight homes have been delivered, with four of these in Blenheim and the other four in Christchurch. The remainder of the allocated places are expected to be delivered in Auckland, Western Bay of Plenty District, Tauranga, Hamilton, Waipa District, Rotorua, Napier, New Plymouth, Wellington, Porirua, Nelson, Christchurch and Dunedin. I am further advised that the remainder of those allocated for delivery are currently pending contractual confirmation of delivery schedules.
