29611 (2026). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Conservation: What conservation land, if any, on Aotea / Great Barrier Island is included in the "bits and bobs" he referred to in Environment Select Committee on 18 June?

Hon Tama Potaka: The Government has always been firm that our iconic landscapes and the places that make New Zealand special will never be put at risk. But I was not clear enough about how the Conservation Amendment Bill (the Bill) would do that, so on 25 June I announced that the Government supports the removal of the land exchanges and disposals provisions from the Bill. This has since been communicated with the Environment Select Committee considering the Bill.
