Vanushi Walters to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: Will the Minister commit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade formally interviewing the New Zealand citizens who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla and were detained in May 2026 about their allegations of assault by the Israel Defense Forces, and if so, by what date?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade wrote to the three New Zealanders detained in May seeking further information on the treatment they experienced while in custody. None of the individuals have provided their consent for officials to make further representations.
