29584 (2026). Vanushi Walters to the Prime Minister: On what date, if any, did the Terrorist Designation Working Group recommend that the designation of Jaish Al Adl as a terrorist entity under the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002 be allowed to lapse?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: I am advised that the Terrorist Designation Working Group (TDWG) provided policy advice on the designation of Jaish Al Adl (JAA) to the National Security Board on 4 and 29 May 2026, including a range of legal, foreign policy and national security factors. Ultimately, TDWG did not make a recommendation on whether to redesignate JAA, aside from noting that it would be legally permissible.
