29583 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Does he accept the findings of the Homelessness Insights report released on 17 June 2026, including the reported 31 percent increase in people discharged from hospital to no fixed abode since 2023 and the 23.7 percent increase in people released from prison into homelessness since 2025, and if not, which findings does he dispute and on what basis?

Hon Chris Bishop: No. It is not a case of "accepting" these findings. The report is the report. Homelessness is a real problem for NZ. It got worse between 2017-2023 and it is still a problem now. Solving it will not be easy.
