29581 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister for Ethnic Communities: Does the Minister consider the $4.232 million Ethnic Communities Grant sufficient to address the needs and inequities facing over 1 million ethnic New Zealanders and if so why?

Hon Mark Mitchell: The Ethnic Communities Development of $4.232 million is aimed at supporting ethnic communities develop skills, preserve their heritage and participate in wider society. This grant funding has positively contributed to building connections between diverse communities and increased New Zealand's social inclusion. Ethnic communities are not limited to approaching the Ethnic Communities Development Fund. As New Zealanders, they are also able to access other Government and philanthropic grant funding.
