29571 (2026). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Tertiary Education: Were any requests made, by providers or tertiary institutions to fund more than 1000 Youth Guarantee places?

Hon Penny Simmonds: I have been advised by the Tertiary Education Commission that since the announcement of the additional 1,000 Youth Guarantee places, they have received 23 applications for 2026 funding. Of these, 22 applicants have requested 660 places in total. Further information has been requested about the remaining application. The application period will remain open until 30 September 2026 or until the additional funding has been allocated.
