29561 (2026). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Tertiary Education: What is the process for allocating the 1000 Youth Guarantee places funded in Budget 2026?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) is responsible for allocating the additional 1,000 Youth Guarantee places funded in Budget 2026. I have been advised by the TEC that Tertiary Education Organisations (TEO) can apply for additional places and that they will be allocated to high performing TEOs that have demonstrated additional demand.
