29559 (2025). Cushla Tangaere-Manuel to the Minister for Sport and Recreation: Was extending the Active Me Kia Tu programme considered in the build-up to Budget 25; if so, when was a decision taken to not extend it?

Hon Mark Mitchell: There was no proposal as part of Budget 2025 discussions. Active Me – Kia Tū was funded through the COVID-19 Recovery Package as part of a time-limited investment to support young people facing financial hardship. As with all initiatives funded through this package, it was understood from the outset that the programme would be time-bound.
