Costs cannot be split out between the MRT and SHI aspects as these were tracked across the full programme, rather than as separable portions. • Consultation or engagement costs: $0 • NZTA staff costs: $369,206 • Consultants and contractors costs: $5,408,335. Since January 2024, spending on the SH1 Second Mt Victoria Tunnel and Basin Reserve upgrade, as well as the long tunnel investigations, have been treated as one project. From 1 April 2024 to 31 May 2024 (the latest monthly figure available), NZTA has spent $1,170,148 on the SH1 Second Mt Victoria Tunnel and Basin Reserve upgrade project.
