29518 (2026). Shanan Halbert to the Minister for Tertiary Education: What new initiatives, if any, did Budget 2026 provide for Work Based Learning?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Budget 2026 provided $233.521 million to fund the equivalent of 99 percent of forecast demand for tertiary education and training for the 2026 and 2027 calendar years, including for work-based provision. $3 million in time-limited funding was also provided through Budget 2026 for Industry Skills Boards to research ways to improve apprenticeship uptake and completion rates across different points in the economic cycle.
