29500 (2026). Celia Wade-Brown to the Minister of Justice: Is the Minister aware that Easy Read enrolment information is not yet available on the Vote.NZ website although there are less than eighteen weeks until enrolment closes?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: The Electoral Commission is an independent Crown entity and as such, I do not receive reporting on detailed operational matters. The Commission’s quarterly accountability reports contain some information of this nature, but no information relating to the particular matter stated. I am advised that the Electoral Commission is conducting a phased public information campaign which started with the Māori Electoral Option from 31 March to 6 August, followed by an enrolment update campaign from 17 August to 25 October. The enrolment update campaign will involve direct mail, emails and texts to enrolled voters, advertising, and resources that people can share in a range of formats including Easy Read.
