29498 (2026). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister of Climate Change: What savings, if any, are expected to result from the decision to discontinue funding for the Māori Climate Platform, broken down by financial year?

Hon Simon Watts: The Budget 2024 baseline savings initiative “Climate Change Programmes” returned funding from the appropriation “Supporting Equitable Transitions and Climate Resilience for Māori” which holds the funding for the Māori Climate Platform. The savings were $10 million per year from 2026/27 onwards. The Budget 2025 savings initiative “Climate Resilience for Māori – Downscaling of Fund” returned $5 million from the 2025/26 year.
