29489 (2023). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Does the Minister intend to progress “review the New Zealand curriculum to remove critical race theory and de-colonialism” as found on page 6 of the 2023 New Zealand First Party manifesto, and if so, what advice, reports, briefings, aides-memoire, or any other documents has the Minister, or any member of their Office commissioned on this by title and date?

Hon Erica Stanford: I have not commissioned or received any advice on critical race theory and de-colonialism in relation to the New Zealand Curriculum since I was sworn in as Minister of Education on 27 November 2023. The member can find my policy objectives for this term in the Speech from the Throne and the National Party Manifesto and agreements between the National Party and its coalition partners. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 29365 (2023) and 29491 (2023).
