29470 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Why is there a reduction in the appropriation for community legal services-related programmes and organisations that deliver, or that support, community-based legal advice, assistance and representation services from $39,633,000 to $16,179,000?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: The decrease in this appropriation for 2024/25 is due to a time limited increase in 2023/24 of $23.697 million for community law centres. This temporary increase came from the surplus interest generated from the lawyers and conveyancers' special fund. There has been no baseline reduction to this appropriation.
