29468 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Rail: What consideration, if any, has been given to involving insurance providers or ACC in supporting initiatives to reduce collisions at level crossings, given the potential for cost savings from improved compliance?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: KiwiRail and TrackSAFE regularly work with NZTA and the New Zealand Police around promoting level crossing safety and crossing initiatives. KiwiRail advise neither organisation has approached ACC or insurance providers for assistance with level crossing.
