29468 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Is the target of enrolling 85% or more eligible voters as set out in the Estimates a more or less ambitious target than the prior target of 3.638 million people (in light of current population of eligible voters)?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised that the target of 85% of eligible voters enrolled amounts to a lower number of eligible voters than the previous target of 3.64 million. However, a percentage target better accounts for population change and reflects fluctuations in enrolment rate over the course of an electoral cycle.
