29460 (2025). Hon Marama Davidson to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology: Where, if anywhere, was the funding increase for the He Ara Whakahihiko Capability Fund redirected from?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: The He Ara Whakahihiko Capability Fund is a new fund. I am advised that it was consolidated from former funds to $10.982 million in 2025/26: • $5.982 million originally allocated through the Vision Mātauranga Capability Fund (VMCF), of which $1.982 million was transferred to the Health Research Council (HRC) for health-related research. • $4.5 million redirected from the He Aka Ka Toro Navigation Fund. • $0.5 million sourced from unspent funds within the Expanding the Impact of Vision Mātauranga Initiative.
