Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Does the Minister intend to progress introducing an exit exam for primary and intermediate teaching graduates to demonstrate expertise in reading, writing, maths, and science instruction, and require existing teachers to undertake professional development in teaching the basics, as outlined in the National Party’s ‘Teaching the Basics Brilliantly Policy Document,’ and if so, what advice, reports, briefings, aides-memoire, or any other documents has the Minister, or any member of their Office commissioned on this by title and date?
