Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning 9 Monday June 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and what is the proposed net change in roles?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: As Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, I have no responsibility for any government departments. With regard to agencies, Crown entities and any other bodies under the Science, Innovation and Technology portfolio, the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences GNS) has advised that a process consultation goes out on Wednesday 11 June relating to five roles that were confirmed to be disestablished in last year's Financial Sustainability Change Programme (FSCP). This was delayed at the time to accommodate any natural attrition between then and now. Two employees have subsequently left its employment, leaving three roles in this process. I am advised that no other entities are planning any actions during the designated period.
