29450 (2023). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Does the Minister intend to progress reprioritising professional development funding towards upskilling existing teachers in reading, writing, maths, and science instruction, and the use of assessment, and make this a requirement for teaching certification, as outlined in the National Party’s ‘Teaching the Basics Brilliantly Policy Document,’ and if so, what advice, reports, briefings, aides-memoire, or any other documents has the Minister, or any member of their Office commissioned on this by title and date?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am yet to request advice on this matter. The member can find my policy objectives for this term in the Speech from the Throne and the National Party Manifesto and agreements between the National Party and its coalition partners. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 29451 (2023).
