29436 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: What briefings has the Minister received, if any, since she was appointed as Minister this term, regarding the presence and activities of the Mexican Cartels primarily the Sinaloa Cartel and Jalisco New Generation Cartel or any other Latin American cartels working in collaboration with organised crime groups and money laundering organisations whilst operating in and/or targeting New Zealand?

Hon Casey Costello: I can advise the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) regularly gives me advice about Mexican and other Latin American cartels targeting New Zealand. This advice is given to me through a number of reporting and communication channels, including the Weekly Report to the Minister of Customs and during my regular meetings with senior Customs officials.
