Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills: Does the Minister intend to remove first year free for students under the Fees Free programme, as outlined in the coalition agreement between National and ACT, and if so, what advice or reports has she or her office received on the expected impact on enrollments if the first year is no longer free?

Hon Penny Simmonds: The Government's coalition agreements commit to replacing first-year fees-free with a final year fees-free policy with no change before 2025. I have not received any advice or reports on the expected impact on enrolments associated with this change.
