29401 (2023). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: How many new classrooms have been built between 2017 and 2023 to date broken down by location, school and date?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that as at 31 October 2023, 1,692 additional classrooms have been built since 2019. The National Education Growth Plan (NEGP) was established in 2019, to deliver additional student spaces to address areas of high growth pressure across New Zealand. The additional classrooms delivered through this Programme are captured above. I refer the member to the attached tables which provide a breakdown of the number of new classrooms built since 2019, broken down by school, location, and date.
