29377 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: Has Customs modelled the potential border vulnerabilities created, if any, by the loss of Customs presence in Whangarei, Gisborne, Timaru, and Invercargill; if so, will the Minister table that modelling?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that no modelling of the potential border vulnerabilities has been created by the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) as a result of the disestablishment of roles in Whangarei, Gisborne, Timaru and Invercargill. While Customs positions based in these locations have been disestablished, Customs continues to service these locations from larger regional offices.
