29312 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister of Customs: How many containers or air cargo shipments, if any, have bypassed screening due to staffing resource or budgetary constraints since January 2024?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) screens all air cargo and sea freight containers using electronic data prior to their arrival into New Zealand. This process has not been affected by any staffing resource or budgetary constraints within Customs.
