29266 (2025). Lan Pham to the Minister for the Environment: Does the Ministry keep estimates of the investment in organic waste management and landfill gas capture required to meet Emissions Reduction Plan 2, if so, what is the dollar figure for each respectively?

Hon Penny Simmonds: Yes. I am advised the Ministry for the Environment keeps estimates of the investment in organic waste management required to meet Emissions Reduction Plan 2 (ERP2), with a central scenario of an additional $30 million invested per year. The Ministry does not currently have estimates of the investment in landfill gas capture required to meet ERP2.
