29263 (2025). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: Did Frontier Economics declare any conflicts of interest to the Minister or the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment in relation to their review of the electricity market, if so, what were the conflicts?

Hon Simon Watts: Management of conflicts – actual or perceived – is an important aspect of MBIE's procurement and contracting process. I am advised that all the experts engaged for this Review of electricity market performance have conflict of interest provisions in their contracts, and that MBIE actively manages any potential conflicts that may emerge as the Review progresses.
