Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Justice: How many, if any, individuals will be/have been contacted to be notified of their warning under the previous three strikes regime being reinstated under the new three strikes regime; listed by number of individuals already contacted, and number of individuals still to be contacted?

Hon Nicole McKee: I am advised that no individuals have or will be contacted about their warnings from the previous regime being reinstated under the new regime. As part of operationalising the Sentencing (Reinstating Three Strikes) Amendment Act 2024 the Ministry will publish information on its website about how affected participants can request information about their strike warnings from the court.
