29183 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Prime Minister: What, if any, consultation processes were undertaken with staff prior to the announcement of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet restructuring?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible Minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted by the DPMC. I am advised that staff were advised prior to 15 May 2025, the commencement of formal consultation, of work underway regarding the future shape and structure of DPMC. I am advised that DPMC provided a copy of a Change Proposal document regarding the DPMC of the Future programme to staff on 15 May 2025.
