29181 (2025). Camilla Belich to the Prime Minister: What, if any, consultation processes were undertaken with unions prior to the announcement of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet restructuring?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible Minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted by the DPMC. I am advised that the Public Service Association was aware of a proposal to restructure DPMC and was provided with a copy of a Change Proposal document regarding the DPMC of the Future programme prior to the release of the document to DPMC staff on 15 May 2025.
