29118 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Which other locations with identified unmet need, if any, were considered but not selected to receive funding under the $2.7 million expansion to six additional locations announced on 17 June 2026?

Hon Chris Bishop: Dunedin, Gisborne, Hastings, Whangārei and the Far North were also considered. The six additional locations (Tauranga, Whakatāne, New Plymouth, Napier, Whanganui and Waimakariri) were selected based on an insights gathered during the production of the March 2026 Homelessness Insights Report, existing services that could be leveraged, and local provider capacity to stand up services quickly.
