29116 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: What evidence, if any, indicates that the $2.7 million announced on 17 June 2026 is sufficient to meet the rough sleeping need across the six additional locations of Tauranga, Whakatāne, New Plymouth, Napier, Whanganui and Waimakariri?

Hon Chris Bishop: This additional investment is a targeted boost to expand immediate support services for people who need a home right now. However, it is not the only response in these locations to meet the need of those rough sleeping. This funding complements existing support services in place in these locations including transitional housing, social housing, Housing First and other local support services.
