Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: Has the Minister taken action, or does he intend to take action, to ensure that defining a “minor variation” in the Building Act doesn’t disturb the overall effectiveness of the Building Act or the Building Code in ensuring building safety, if so, what advice, reports, briefings, aides-memoire, or any other documents has the Minister, or any member of their Office received on this by title and date?

Hon Chris Penk: I intend to progress the priorities outlined in the Speech from the Throne and the coalition agreements that are relevant to my portfolio. In my capacity as Minister for Building and Construction, I received the following papers during the week of 27 November 2023 which included information related to this in the table attached.
