29115 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Associate Minister of Education: How much, if anything, was paid to an external supplier to collect uneaten meals during the week of June 8th 2026?

Hon David Seymour: Costs for collecting surplus meals are generally included in each supplier’s per-meal rate. The exception is one supplier, where an additional Friday pickup has been included at the request of schools and is invoiced monthly. I am advised by the Ministry of Education that it paid $117,946.72 (excl. GST), during the week of 8 June 2026, to a supplier for additional waste collection services from the previous month.
