29095 (2025). Hon Jenny Salesa to the Minister for Ethnic Communities: How, if at all, has the Minister for Ethnic Communities exercised system leadership to ensure Ethnic New Zealanders are explicitly included in all-of-government social investment frameworks?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the Ministry for Ethnic Communities is working alongside Statistics New Zealand to improve the quality of data in the Integrated Data Infrastructure, which government agencies use in their work. This is part of the work Stats NZ and the Social Investment Agency are doing to strengthen data and evidence infrastructure. I am further advised that the Ministry routinely advises the SIA to ensure ethnic communities needs and opportunities are considered in social investment frameworks, policy development and service delivery design.
