29059 (2023). Arena Williams to the Minister for Building and Construction: What consequences, if any, will result from a BCA being unable to issue a Code Compliance Certificate in five working days as outlined in the National Party's 'Better Building and Construction' document, if implemented?

Hon Chris Penk: No decisions have been made on the consequences for the failure of a building consent authority to meet the requirements of this proposal, if implemented. However, there are a range of actions that may be undertaken where a building consent authority fails to comply with the accreditation requirements set out in the Building Act 2004 and Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006.
