29037 (2026). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Energy: What savings, if any, are expected to result from the decision to discontinue Crown funding for Ara Ake, broken down by financial year?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the expected savings are as follows: 2026/27 – $6.5 million 2027/28 – $6.5 million 2028/29 – $6.0 million 2029/30 – $6.0 million 2030/31 to 2032/33* – $7 million per year *Ara Ake’s funding agreement with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment was due to end on 30 June 2033.
