29024 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister for Youth: How much funding has the Ministry of Youth Development allocated to youth-led or youth advisory groups in each of the past five financial years, and what is the projected allocation for 2024/25?

Hon James Meager: The Ministry of Youth Development (MYD) funds a large range of youth development programmes through its Non-Departmental Output Expense (NDOE) appropriation, and some funded programmes will include youth-led initiatives. Information on organisations funded by MYD (2023-2025) can be found online, which captures 2024/25: https://www.myd.govt.nz/documents/funding/2023-procurement/final-myd-funding-table.pdf. This information does not exist in a readily available format across the past five financial years. The Ministry would have to divert personnel from their core duties to provide the information sought by the Member. Therefore, in accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time and expense of answering the Member’s questions is not in the public interest.
