28954 (2026). Rt Hon Chris Hipkins to the Minister for Resources: Does he stand by his statement “To the best of my knowledge there was some sort of cock-up with the original booking, and then it was corrected, and by the time they corrected it there must have been a change in the cost structure of the trip”, if so, what change to the cost structure was made for his March 2025 ministerial travel to Toronto Canada?

Hon Shane Jones: Yes. MBIE officials were instructed to revise the proposed budget for the planned visit to Canada. The revised budget was omitted from the Cabinet travel paper due to an administrative error by MBIE.
