28927 (2026). Lan Pham to the Associate Minister for the Environment: Following response 25764 (2026), is the Minister aware of any water quality monitoring sites managed by regional councils that have shown improvements in water quality as a result of the action of a catchment group or catchment collective?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: It would be difficult to attribute improving trends to the work of catchment groups only, given the number of variables at play, but examples from monitored catchments in New Zealand show improving water quality alongside coordinated catchment-scale action.
