28905 (2026). Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Public Service and Digitising Government: Is he satisfied that his record-keeping practices are consistent with the record-keeping standards the Public Service Commission sets for public servants, and what advice, if any, has he received on whether those practices comply with the Public Records Act 2005 and the Official Information Act 1982?
Hon Paul Goldsmith: Yes.
The member may be interested to know that record keeping standards for the New Zealand public sector are issued by the Chief Archivist under the Public Records Act 2005 (administered by Archives New Zealand). The Public Service Commission sets expectations for integrity and conduct in the Public Service but does not issue formal record keeping standards.
