Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: What role, if any, will the Minister have in the cross-party working group on mental health (Mental Health and Addiction Wellbeing Group) formed during the previous Parliament and – if he is involved -- how will he reconcile the group’s specific mandate to hold the Government of the day to account, with his role as Minister?

Hon Matt Doocey: I have said publicly that I want there to be a bi-partisan approach to mental health in New Zealand. As the Minister for Mental Health, I will no longer be a member of this group but am seeking advice around how we can better utilise this group into the future.
