28886 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Customs: What advice, if any, has the Minister had about the impacts of any job losses, if any, on the Minister’s departments, if any ?

Hon Casey Costello: I have been provided with regular updates about the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) organisational change programme to meet required cost savings and future cost pressures. These updates have included information about Customs prioritisation and alignment of resources, the disestablishment of some roles and the creation of others. I am advised that Customs’ objectives are to continue to deliver services and critical support functions, and deliver on the Government’s priorities, while operating as efficiently as possible and manage cost pressures now and in the years ahead.
