Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Did the Minister ask MBIE for any advice on any alternative legislative approaches to Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003 reform that would address lender concerns without adversely affecting consumers in active litigation, and if not, why not?

Hon Scott Simpson: MBIE had analysed an alternative option in its Regulatory Impact Statement that would allow the active litigation to run its course. I was provided with a copy of this analysis and found it sufficient.
