Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Education: Did she make any suggestion to National Party Members of Parliament that they communicate decisions about the funding of new classrooms and school property upgrades before she announced that information on 11 June 2026 and before Ministry of Education officials provided that information to schools and if so, why?

Hon Erica Stanford: I did not suggest that MPs get in touch with their local schools before Ministry of Education Officials. I suggested that National electorate MPs whose electorates were receiving additional classrooms and school property upgrades contact their local principals because it is important that schools are made aware of announcements before they are in the media.
