28853 (2026). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Education: On what date, if at all, did she first notify National Party Members of Parliament about the details of the new classrooms and school property upgrades that she announced on 11 June 2026 and how did she communicate that information to them?

Hon Erica Stanford: On 10 June 2026, I called National MPs whose electorates were receiving additional classrooms and school property upgrades so that they could get in touch with their local school principals to ensure that they knew of the announcement prior to it being reported in the media. I then sent them a follow-up eail after the call; confirming what I had told them. The information was high level - the schools, number of roll growth classrooms, and the fact that most of the new classrooms would be underway prior to the end of the year - and only what was in the press release. MPs were told that Ministry of Education property advisors would follow up with schools to provide more detailed information, especially around the maintenance projects.
