Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). I am advised that the Chief Executive and members of the Policy Advisory Group (PAG) from DPMC attended meetings with company representatives who are also defendants in the Smith v Fonterra case between October 2024 and May 2026 and discussed a range of issues. Discussions with PAG may have included reference to the Smith v Fonterra case. I am advised that a complete list of relevant meetings is not held by DPMC in an assessable form. To collate this information requires substantial resources and thus a cost to the taxpayers. In accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I do not consider that this would be in the public interest.
