28804 (2026). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: In response to Reply 26749 (2026), is the "Teacher Aide Pay Equity Claims" top-up for Teacher Aides paid through the Teacher Aide hourly rate ORS funding to schools; if not, how is this top-up paid?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that the Teacher Aide Pay Equity Claims top-up for teacher aides is paid to schools separately. The Ministry provides estimated funding to schools and kura in line with the quarterly operational grant instalments. The estimated funding is calculated using the most up to date payroll data available. The annual wash-up calculation adjusts for differences between estimated and confirmed funding. This funding will appear in the resourcing system, Pourato under the payment type non-teach support Pay Equity and Collective Agreement funding.
